Good Stuff Galore
There is a LOT of Good Stuff going on in our community and a lot more in the works all over town, including the opening of bridges and roads, yippee!
Seriously, some of our longtime environmental and education partners are rocking the good stuff along with some new initiatives that are making some major headway. You will find many Cobblestone vendors involved in these endeavors, not surprising!
In the Compost / Zero Waste arena, shout outs to:
Piedmont Environmental Alliance - for leading the way towards composting in schools such as Speas Elementary and spearheading advocacy for composting throughout our public school system!
Miracle Grounds Network at Crossnore School, Camino Bakery and Piedmont International University - for creating Story of the Plate, a program that supports food businesses committed to composting the waste they generate.
Gallins Family Farm - for their vision years ago to 'dig into' industrial composting and creating a platform for all of us to use to make our community cleaner, healthier by putting our waste to use!
Look for the green rolling bins at the market and drop your compostable materials right in! Join our 360 journey beginning and ending with great soil, great plants, clean water, clean air!
Please enjoy Michael Hasting's article that provides more details on the composting happenings.
A quick switch to some UPCOMING EVENTS with other longtime Cobblestone partners are BOOKMARKS Festival, September 5-7, and the Hispanic League's FIESTA on September 14th! Please check out details below the weekly VENDOR LINEUP!
Lots of Good Stuff to enjoy!
Cobblestone LOCAL equals 50+ independent Piedmont food businesses in one place!
