We are sharing an article from CIVIL EATS this week that offers a good break down on specific gases and the role of fertilizer use on crops, in order to increase our awareness of what food production on large and smaller scales looks like in relationship to climate change. We appreciate our food producers for their talents always and their commitment to positively impactful production practices which come from personal integrity without any subsidy support.

Let's get closer...to our pups! Navigating a busy market is part of the hustle bustle fun and with that comes pups on leashes as well as babies in strollers - lots of legs and wheels!

PUP OWNERS, please LEASH UP!

Truth is, strollers are pretty easy to 'park', pups not so much. With a SHORTER LEASH, pups rest comfortably by their owners, clearly out of the way of a vendor booth and product for sale (peeing near a booth or in the market = UNACCEPTABLE, both as a health risk to fresh food and rendering product as unsellable) and even if an owner is deep into a conversation about eggplant or an herbal tonic, having that furry one on a short leash allows for a comfort zone for all - the customer in line, the vendor and market goers cruising the booth offerings or chatting with friends nearby.

We LOVE seeing your social pups on Saturdays in Old Salem and we thank you for helping us retain this option to include pups at market by adhering to the market dog rules posted at every entrance to the market!
