The collection of producers and staff at Cobblestone Farmers Market and Beta Verde are pleased and grateful to continue to serve our community
The collection of producers and staff at Cobblestone Farmers Market and Beta Verde are pleased and grateful to continue to serve our community this Saturday, and moving forward as possible, by providing access to fresh food while adhering to CDC and Department of Public Health guidelines, as well as mandates from our government leaders.
We stand with our food industry friends who are creatively committed to making sure that everyone who needs food has access and to keeping as much of our local food economy going as possible. Cobblestone and Beta Verde remain nimble and seriously focused on the business of food access and supporting the health of our community in any way possible.
Please read on and follow Cobblestone Farmers Market on social media for the most up-to-date market information. Please share and send any ideas or questions our way.
We hope that we leave no stone unturned.
The Market, now more than ever, is not an event but a transactional place for fresh, local and sustainably produced food. Our vegetable, fruit and meat producers, bakers, dairy farmers, tea makers, and honey and syrup producers are respectively harvesting, planning for the next season, gently raising animals and making beautiful, nutritious goods each day. With few hands in the harvesting or production process and limited miles of transport, the foods they have for you will nurture your body and soul and remain fresh and viable for many days.
Please note below that the MARKET WILL BE OPEN 8:30 to 9am for SENIORS (65+) and other folks in high risk groups. The 6' social distancing will be fully in action as will additional stringent safety protocols. We will also have people on hand at the Information Booths to help customers with curbside pick-ups (more details below).
Thanks to all of you who are making daily life continue with much grace and thought. Cobblestone and Beta Verde have always been serious about helping others - we are not stopping now. Stay safe, stay healthy.
Cobblestone LOCAL is independent Piedmont food/farm businesses in one place.
NEW MARKET PROTOCOL
Thank you all for staying up to date on our new market protocols and keeping market safe and clean for all during this time. The market is limiting close proximity and coming in to contact with high touch surfaces by:
Moving outdoors to an open-air market with significant distance between booths.
Limiting market volume by extending market hours and promoting pre-ordering, alternate pick-up locations and home deliveries with individual vendors.
Providing Seniors (65 +) and High-Risk Customer Shopping Time between 8:30-9:00am
Implementing social distancing between customers in lines and conversations/interactions at a distance.
Asking vendors to practice increased hand hygiene, use of gloves when handling money and packaging items for customers, and leaving items on tables for pick-up.
Rounding prices to the nearest dollar to remove usage of coins.
Regularly sanitizing high touch areas within the market area.
Using non-porous tablecloths.
Please look out for signage around Market and say hello to your friends from a 6' distance!
Asking that customers keep their furry friends at home; Pets will NOT be permitted in the Market (until further notice).
We know this may disappointing for many of you and we understand that dogs are not thought to be carriers of COVID-19, our first priority at this time is to create a comfortable and easy space for folks to continue to access fresh, healthy food.
We look forward to the day when we can resume as the congenial marketplace you know and love; however, for the time being, our priority as a Market is to serve as a transactional space for our vendors and a space where our community can access sustainably produced food.
We ask for your understanding as we implement this temporary adjustment as one of many stringent safety protocols going into effect at Market this weekend (and for the foreseeable future) to make social distancing as seamless as possible.
